Two Betrayals
Two Betrayals is the eighth campaign level in Halo: Combat Evolved. This level revisits the Control Room area and features both Flood and Covenant enemies.
Co-op Warp Glitch
Avoid the Flood encounter at the final generator by using a co-op warp point.
Requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Mode | Co-op (2 players required) |
| Location | Hallway before the last generator |
How to Perform
- Progress through the level until the hallway before the final generator
- Locate the warp/checkpoint spot in the hallway
- Have one player stay at the warp point
- The other player moves forward to trigger the checkpoint
- Activate the warp to teleport both players
- Both players escape before the Flood arrives
Why It Works
The game's co-op respawn system allows players to warp to checkpoint locations. By triggering the checkpoint at the right moment, you can skip the Flood ambush.
Banshee Acquisition
Getting a Banshee early makes this level much easier.
Tips for Securing a Banshee
- Several Banshees appear throughout the level
- Eliminating the Elite pilot quickly is essential
- A Banshee lets you fly past most ground encounters
- Useful for reaching generators quickly
Generator Sequence Optimization
You must destroy three generators. The order and route matters.
Optimal Route
- Start with the closest generator
- Use vehicles to move between generators quickly
- Clear or skip enemies efficiently
- The Flood and Covenant fight each other—use this to your advantage
Combat Tips
- Let Flood and Covenant weaken each other
- Grenades are effective in the tight spaces
- Don't engage every enemy—push past when possible
Backtracking Navigation
This level reuses Control Room geometry in reverse, which can be disorienting.
Tips
- The layout mirrors Assault on the Control Room
- Use landmarks to navigate
- Vehicles make backtracking much faster
- Some shortcuts from AotCR work in reverse
Tips
- The Co-op Warp Glitch saves a brutal fight on Legendary
- Prioritize getting a Banshee
- Let enemies fight each other
- Keep moving—standing still spawns more enemies
